Believing in making the difference through music, JMI uses the power of music to bridge across social, geographical, racial and economic divides, empowering 5 million youth annually through over 32,000 activities globally.
JMI fosters intercultural learning through music and provides resources for member organisations to increase their capacity, skills, scope and outreach. Modalities of action include development of cross-border programs and projects (see list below), membership support services (eg. communications and promotions, training and capacity building), creation and steering of international platforms (eg. working groups, committees), organisation of network meetings, advocacy and lobbying, and building of sustainable youth-music infrastructures.
JMI is the world’s largest youth-music network, in operation for over 60 years (founded in 1945).
JMI is a non-governmental, not for profit youth-music organisation with 38 national member sections and 18 associate member organisations worldwide.
