Arts Institute - Czech Republic Print

Introduction


The Arts Institute was established in January 2005 as an information, advisory, educational and production centre for the arts.

Structure

The Arts Institute is currently associated with the Theatre Institute, an organization established and funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

Aims


The aim of the Arts Institute is to contribute to the promotion of public recognition of the role of the arts and its development. The Arts Institute will support the exchange of information and experience among artistic fields, the presentation and promotion of Czech arts abroad, as well as its participation in international projects of cultural cooperation.

Activities


The Arts Institute ensures information and advisory services for national and regional public authorities, public and non-governmental organizations, as well as the professional cultural public in the field of arts (theatre, music, dance, visual arts, literature). The Arts Institute will implement its own activities (arts residencies, research and analysis, monitoring, consultations, educational and production activities).

The Arts Institute Czech Republic is the seat of the Czech Cultural Contact Point, promoting the EU´s funding programme for culture. Arts Institute is also the seat of the Czech Music Council, one of the national sections of non-government organization Council International of Music UNESCO, and a member of HALMA Literary Network.

The Arts Institute Czech Republic has realized the following projects:
  • research projects on cultural policy topics
  • Martinu Revisited project 2008 – 2010
  • Creation of concepts for a more efficient support system of the arts for the period – 2007-2012
  • Artists in Residencies Programme
  • Awards of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic (in the fields of literature, theatre, music and visual arts and architecture)
