![]() IntroductionArtistic Center "Fabryka Trzciny" is a center for arts and education comprising a Performance Hall, Theatrical Stage, Exhibition Hall, Club & Lounge, as well as a multitude of spaces designated for film screenings, fashion shows, symposiums, conferences, specialist training and other private or corporate events. Fabryka Trzciny also serves as a backdrop for photo shoots, short advertising clips, as well as TV shows. The redesign lasted nearly two years during which 2,000 square meters were renovated. Currently two bars and 90 parking spots are at the guests' disposal within the Fabryka complex. The Fabryka building, originally constructed in 1916, is one of the oldest industrial sites located on Warsaw's east river bank, in the Praga district. In its early days it housed a marmalade production facility, later becoming the headquarters of the Polish Rubber Industry (it is this industry's Polish acronym "PPG" that came to symbolize the almost legendary "Pepegi" shoes) and even later a food processing plant and delicatessen. During the war it was confiscated by Germany, after the war by the socialist government of the Polish People's Republic. It was this desolate and ruined factory that was discovered by renowned composer, TV and music producer as well as cultural director - Wojciech Trzcinski. He was immediately spellbound by the unique, unforgettable atmosphere and magical aura enveloping the buildings of the old factory. The idea to create a venue in which various forms of art could come together captivated him for a long time ultimately leading him to renovate the complex and transform it into an Artistic Center. Today Fabryka Trzciny derives its name from the surname, or rather the pseudonym under which he is known among the artistic community. StructureArtistic Centre Fabryka Trzciny is an independent, private organization. Activities"Fabryka Trzciny" is one of the few, if not the only place in Warsaw, concentrating all forms of artistic creation: painting, photography, theatre, music, as well as a mini-library and spaces for meetings and promotion of modern writers, publicists, politicians and interesting personalities. The concept behind "Fabryka Trzciny" is in some ways a reinvention of the proven model of the student clubs operating in the 60s. And especially its diverse artistic programme as well as the marriage of avant-garde and tradition proposed in a modern form yet within a contemporary setting.
