DACOR - Cultural Development for the Nord-pas-de-Calais French region Print

DACOR - Développement de l'Action Culturelle Opérationnelle en Région Nord-Pas de Calais  (Development of Practical Cultural Initiatives in the Nord-Pas de Calais Region)

Introduction

DACOR - Développement de l'Action Culturelle Opérationnelle en Région Nord-Pas de Calais, created in 1992, is an organisation affiliated to the Nord-Pas de Calais Regional Council.

Aims

DACOR’s main objective is to encourage regional cultural dynamics. Hand in hand with the technical and institutional partners of the cultural and artistic fields, and alongside with their initiatives, DACOR is dedicated to supporting all cultural project holders.

While DACOR develops, produces and constantly updates specific tools in order to help the development of these projects, it never directly initiates them. Indeed, the organisation’s efforts and skills are always mobilised in response to a specific request or specific needs as expressed by the project holders themselves.

Activities

Opened in 1993, the information and resource centre of DACOR has constantly been adapting its methods to the development of new technologies, in order to continue meeting as best as possible the requests for cultural information, should they come from a regional, national or international level. As information is a key factor of success in all cultural initiatives, this centre is a most valuable tool to support their development.

DACOR now proposes a reference collection to accompany these initiatives at each step of their development process. It also continues to gather and process new information coming from the artistic and cultural field, as it has done since its creation, integrating it in its own know-how. This action provides the organisation with a wide vision encompassing all the fields related to cultural initiatives which, combined with the privileged relationships DACOR holds with a large number of institutions and other artistic and cultural partners, allows for a clear identification of available expertise as well as needs.

•    Punctual advice regarding the core of a project, its strategy, the place it intends to hold in the cultural landscape or its communication plan, for example.
•    A service that goes beyond the advice to offer a true coaching of the project as it develops
•    A perspective of long-term collaboration
