![]() IntroductionSince its foundation in 1993 Res Artis has grown into the sole world-wide network of residential arts centres. Res Artis represents the interests of more than 200 centres and organisations that offer international artists facilities and conditions conducive for making art. Due to the efforts of Res Artis the understanding of the catalytic role residential arts centres play in the development of contemporary art has increased. StructureRes Artis is a members driven organisation. The board consists of four Officers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary) and one member. The Advisory Committee consists of 13 members. Res Artis has 4 categories of membership: Full Membership, Advisory Membership, In Statue Nascendi Membership and Affiliate/Individual Membership. Res Artis has the legal status of an international Foundation, based in the Netherlands. MembersCurrently members of Res Artis reside in: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cypres, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, USA. Members of Res Artis not only include residential arts centres but also individuals, artists’ unions and organisations that represent numerous residential arts centres themselves (for example the Alliance of Artists’ Communities, USA, representing nearly 100 artists’ communities).
